Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah Trail

Description

______________

This 2.7-mile, easy, loop is often described as looking like a place from another planet. The beautiful landscape has hoodoos and badlands that make this hike one of our favorites. It’s also a great area to spot fossils in. The hike might have a few other people on it, but if you go during the less busy times of the week/days, you might find yourself alone. There isn’t a well-defined trail, so plan accordingly. Read more.

The cliff dwellings are in good condition and hikers are free to explore them. No food, animals, or flavored beverages are allowed on the trail. Go in the early morning or on a weekday for less people. Read more.

Jordan Hot Springs via Little Bear Canyon

Description

______________

This 7–8-mile hike (depending on the route), takes you through gorgeous scenery with rivers, wildlife, mountains, impressive rock formations, and hot springs. Even though it can be done in a day, camping might be a great option due to the amount of rock scrambling and river crossings hikers have to traverse (campsites are in certain parts of the trail). The river crossings’ difficulty depends on the season and the depth of the water. A soak in the Jordan Spring is a perfect way to relax after the hike out to the spring. This trail can be crowded if you go during peak times. Consider going on a weekday or starting in the very early morning to get the springs to yourself. Read more.
