Sasquad hikes are selected for their uniqueness, solitude, and honoring local folklore. If you are looking for the most popular hikes, there are plenty of other websites that can help with that. We are looking for the trails less traveled. If you have ideas about hikes that should be on the page, let us know! If your hike is featured, we will send you free merch.

Mantle Rock Trail

Description
______________
This 4.6-mile, easy, loop in Mantle Rock Preserve is a lot of fun. There are great rock formations, caves, and the largest free standing arch east of the Mississippi River at 188 feet long and 30 feet wide (Mantel Rock). The trail is lined with forest, which is also certified site on the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail, which the Cherokee Nation followed after being forced to give up their lands and migrate to present-day Oklahoma. The weight of the history also makes this area special and worthy of respect and care. There are also beautiful pools of water to see on the hike. Read more.
