It is an easy loop that will take hikers on forested trails, past flowing water, through some great rock formations, and (of course) to a pretty cool cave. This site is on the list because it is an incredible, sacred place, full of mystery and debate. It is a great example of honoring local legends and history. This area displays huge mounds, built in the Late Woodland Period (1400-750 Before Present), that are in the shape of different animals. The site is known to be sacred to make 1st nation tribes. Some believe the sites were used to mark boundaries, others believe they were sacred ceremonial sites. The mystery of it still has historians, scientists, and visitors puzzled. West Lake and East Lake Trail
